We are seeking a new Chair to join our diverse Board of Trustees. This is a remote, unpaid opportunity that will require occasional travel to London.
As Chair, you will have the chance to make a significant impact on the lives of many young people and contribute to the growth of our organisation.

A BIT OF BACKGROUND:
20/20 Levels is a charity that helps underrepresented young people (aged 18-30) with
big ideas and a drive to succeed. We offer programmes, levels, talent, and mentorship
to help them find success in various fields and sectors. Our multi-award-winning program “I Am Change” uses alternative education to help
young people discover and fulfil their potential, enabling them to live purposeful lives. “Teaching young people what they don’t learn in school” Our “Levels” programme, gives overlooked young entrepreneurs the training and
networking opportunities to start, sustain and succeed in business. We help develop self-confidence that empowers each of our candidates to become the
best versions of themselves. With 2020/Talent, our recruitment arm of the organisation, we also help to create a
smooth transition from education to the workforce by offering work experience,
internships and jobs.
ROLE AND SPECIFICATION
We are looking for a new Chair who can:
Demonstrate an interest and commitment to the work, values and vision of 20/20
Levels;
Work closely with the Founder, Board of Trustees and employees to drive and support
growth; and devote the time needed for the role.
We are particularly looking for experience and expertise in the following areas:
Business/commercial acumen: Experience in start-ups and scaling for-profit or non-
profit organisations. Experience in the recruitment industry is also welcomed.
Fundraising: Active engagement in fundraising initiatives is an essential part of the
role. Professional charity fundraising experience is strongly encouraged.
Relationship building: Ability to engage stakeholders and make decisive, impactful
decisions. Relationships/contacts with corporates would be advantageous.
Operational/financial intelligence: Knowledge of SMEs and/or charities is essential.
Exceptional leadership and communication skills: Essential for mentoring our Founder, supporting our executive team and establishing an excellent relationship with all
of our Board members.
Governance knowledge: A robust knowledge of charity governance principles and best
practices is not a necessary but definitely encouraged.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Chair and participate in quarterly board meetings, including providing strategic
direction and ensuring the organisation delivers on its mission. You will help shape the
success of 20/20 Levels, supporting with KPIs and ensuring delivery. Support with fundraising. You will play an active role in establishing and building relationships with prospective and current corporate and charity funders. As a trusted member of the governance function, you will foster collaboration, ensure effective governance, and facilitate excellent decision-making. You will also support in the preparation of the agenda and board papers. Partner and mentor the CEO. You will coordinate goal setting and annual performance evaluation whilst helping to foster a strong and supportive relationship between the team, Trustees and the Board. Act as an ambassador for 20/20 Levels, to support the growth and visibility of the organisation, through mobilising networks and senior-level external representation.
TIME COMMITMENT
Board meetings take place four times a year, lasting approximately 2 hours each. They
usually take place in person at a location in London. An agenda and papers are circulated beforehand. Check-ins with the CEO and team, minimum of 1 hour a month.
Option to attend a sub committee meeting, lasting approximately 1-2 hours every three
months.
